Claire Elise Boucher (/bu:'SeI/ boo-SHAY;[1] born March 17 the 17th of March, 1988) also known professionally as Grimes is a Canadian performer, singer music producer, and songwriter. There are many styles of her earlier music was described as "lo the fi R&B" and "futuristic dance-pop". In addition, she has incorporated elements from hip hop electronic, rock and hip hop. She is often incorporating science fiction and feminist themes in her songs. Five albums have come out. She was raised and born in Vancouver (later moving into Montreal), Grimes began making music on her own from the mid-2000s onwards with two albums released, Geidi Primes as well as Halfaxa from 2010 via Arbutus Records. Following her joining 4AD, she rose in popularity by releasing Visions the fourth studio album. Visions contains the two singles "Genesis" and "Oblivion" and won the Canadian industry's Juno Award for Electronic Album of the Year. Art Angels, her fourth studio album, debuted in 2015. Many publications called it the best album. The fifth album, Miss Anthropocene, was launched in the year 2020. Outside of music, Grimes had a voice role in the 2020 action role-playing video game Cyberpunk 2077 and is a judge for the music competition game program Alter Ego.
